About Holly: Hello! I am a Licensed MFT and registered associate PCC therapist, college professor, single mother, and pet parent! Before pursuing a career in counseling/therapy, I had been an anthropology professor for 6 years. While I continue to teach, mostly online, I spend most of my time as a therapist. My anthropology (and literature) background led me to be very interested in human behavior and psychology, essentially why we act the way we do, and why/how that is dependent on our environment/upbringing.

I incorporate a humanist, feminist, attachment, and psychodynamic lens when working with clients, as this is a way to merge all my education, and to really show up as my most authentic self in the therapy room.

I am also EMDR certified and DBR trained- essentially meaning I am a trained trauma informed therapist with many tools under my belt. While not all trauma is labeled as trauma, our experiences have an impact on our mind, nervous system, and relationships.  I work with clients on how those experiences have impacted them, and how we can recover from those impacts. Many of us are stuck in recreating patterns we can often see but can’t pull ourselves out of. Generally, this is a sign of having that impact from hardship, trauma, neglectful upbringing, etc., show up in the present. This is where working on our past experiences in therapy helps rewrite the present and future.
