    Melissa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Melissa was born and raised in Riverside and has been happily married for 13 years. Melissa has a huge heart for animals and is currently mom to 6 rescue kitties who all have their own unique personalities and behavioral issues. When not at work, she enjoys engaging in activities that promote laughter and is an avid movie goer. She also considers herself an essential oil mixologist and is currently studying the law of attraction, vibrational frequencies, and energy healing. Melissa received her degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology through California State University San Bernardino and has been working in the Mental Health field for 15+ years primarily working with youth, young adults, and families in a community-based setting serving the community of San Bernardino.

     

    Melissa specializes in helping others overcome depression, anxiety, and managing stressors to bring about life balance and wellness. She has experience treating  Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, Self-Esteem, Family Conflict, Life transitions, Parenting, and Behavioral Management. Melissa enjoys working with those who are apprehensive about entering into therapy especially those experiencing anxiety. Melissa believes that you are the expert in your own life. Her role is to partner with you to identify your values and what might be getting in the way of those values. Together, you will draw out the solutions that already exist within you. Melissa uses a combination of therapeutic techniques which include identifying thoughts and feelings leading to problematic behavior, re-examining personal narratives, mindfulness meditation, and faith integration (as preferred). Melissa enjoys creating a warm environment for her clients through integrating soft lighting, music, pillows/blankets, and essential oils as part of the session. Ultimately sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the individual person seeking services.
