About Megan: I am a military/first responder spouse, a mom of five, a mental health therapist, and a doula. I provide individual therapy for adults who want support navigating challenges related to parenting, marital conflict, pregnancy, birth-related trauma, postpartum experiences, and the unique realities of being part of a First Responder or Military family.

As a spouse and mother for more than 20 years, I deeply understand and empathize with the unique struggles that come with military and first responder family life. My experience as a doula has also given me powerful insight into pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I feel strongly about the importance of robust birth preparation, compassionate postpartum care, and creating space to process birth experiences—especially when they have been traumatic.

I believe strongly in the resilience of the human spirit. My goal is to help clients connect with their strengths and values so they can live with greater ease and intention. Understanding each client’s cultural and personal context is essential in building a meaningful and healing therapeutic relationship.

In my practice, I strive to foster authentic connection, empathy, and humor. I integrate a variety of approaches including ACT, somatic practices, IFS, and Brainspotting. Throughout my career, I have worked in child welfare helping find permanent placements for foster youth, implemented wraparound care for at-risk juvenile youth, provided parenting counseling, and supported perinatal mental health. I also lead new mom and parenting support groups.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a Master of Social Work from UCLA. My partner also attended UCLA, so the “8 clap” was basically a nursery rhyme in our house—but I will work with USC graduates. I’m an avid learner and am also a Certified Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Simplicity Parenting Counselor.
