Dr. Jasmine Board was born and raised in Los Angeles county . She started her journey with the desire to work in the mental health field at her high school hospital program where she was a part of the urgent care and mental health department. Dr. Jasmine Board has believed in community outreach on erasing the mental health stigma and has participated with organizations like NAMI since 2007. Dr. Jasmine received her License in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2019. She received her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2013. She received her Masters’ degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, Irvine in 2015. Dr. Jasmine Board currently holds her Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University.
Dr. Jasmine Board wants to give back to her to the field through education, research, and clinical supervision. This includes but is not limited to experience with teaching Masters’ MFT classes, clinically supervising Masters’ students, and presenting in multiple mental health conferences such as AAMFT and NCFR from 2014 to 2019. Dr. Jasmine has six years experience in working in inpatient, outpatient, school, group homes, STRTP, residential programs, and hospital settings. Dr. Jasmine is intensely passionate about working with the underserved populations such as the homeless, veterans, substance abuse, prisoners, foster care system, adolescents, and the severely mentally ill. Dr. Jasmine’s theoretical lens is a combination of Solution Focused therapy, Narrative therapy, and Psychoeducation. She believes that it is important to collaborate with the clients in order to increase the well being and progress of the client. She thinks it is important to be an advocate for the clients and also help the client’s become advocates for themselves. Dr. Jasmine wants to be able to help the clients find what triggers them (Anxiety,Trauma, Substance Use, Depression, etc.) and help them find peace and other solutions to overcome any mental health issues.
